LOEB’S is family owned and operated clothing store company established in 1887 in Meridian, Mississippi. Our store is located in downtown Meridian on Front Street.

The Loeb family has a long-standing history in the retail industry that began in 1867 when brothers Simon and Julius Loeb, Bavarian immigrants, founded Simon Loeb & Brothers in Columbus, Mississippi. In 1887, Alex Loeb, their brother and also a Bavarian immigrant, joined the company and founded his own clothing company, Alex Loeb, Inc., in Meridian, Mississippi. The company evolved into a department store in the early 1900s and, by the 1950s, it had become a landmark in Meridian with a new flagship store known for its luxurious decor and wide selection of merchandise, including high-end fashion. Over the years, Loeb’s expanded, opening several other locations in Mississippi and increasing its selection of merchandise. Today, Loeb’s, Inc. is still family-owned and operated by Robert S. Loeb, Jr., the great-grandson of Alex Loeb. The company operates a single location in downtown Meridian, Mississippi, that continues to offer a wide selection of merchandise, including clothing, home goods, and travel equipment. Loeb’s is a testament to the Loeb family’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to providing quality products and exceptional customer service throughout the decades.
